Mission & Vision

🎯

Our Mission

To advance evidence-based research, and transformative projects that enhance biodiversity conservation, combat climate change, and promote environmental stewardship in Ghana and beyond

🔭

Our Vision

A resilient and biodiverse Ghana where nature and people thrive together through sustainable, science-driven solutions

Our Core Values

01

Scientific Rigour

All our conservation decisions are grounded in peer-reviewed field research and evidence-based methodology.

02

Community Partnership

We work alongside local communities, recognising that lasting conservation depends on people who share the landscape with wildlife.

03

Transparency

We maintain open reporting of our research, funding, and outcomes to all stakeholders and supporters.

04

Urgency

We act with the urgency that the biodiversity crisis demands, prioritising species and habitats under the greatest threat.

Our Target Groups

WingWatch Africa's work is designed to reach and empower the people most connected to — and most affected by — Africa's changing natural environment.

01

Local Communities — Youth & Women

We prioritise grassroots engagement, working directly with youth and women in local communities who are often at the frontline of environmental change. Our programs build awareness, foster stewardship, and create pathways for meaningful participation in conservation.

02

Farmers & Fisherfolk

Those who work the land and water are both custodians of biodiversity and communities under pressure from ecological degradation. We partner with farmers and fisherfolk to promote sustainable practices that support livelihoods while protecting ecosystems.

03

Students & Researchers

The next generation of conservationists needs tools, mentorship, and access to rigorous science. We engage students and researchers through capacity-building programs, collaborative fieldwork, and open access to our findings and methodologies.

04

Policy Makers & Local Authorities

Conservation without policy change has limits. We translate our research into accessible briefs and recommendations for decision-makers, working with local authorities to embed evidence-based environmental thinking into governance and land-use planning.
